Training and surveying KAP at the end of the term Vietnam - Korea project on cooperation in overcoming the consequences of landmines after the war in Quang Binh province

Within the framework of the consulting service contract " The end-of-term survey of attitudes, knowledge and behaviors on mine and explosive prevention education in Quang Binh in 2021 ", from July 24 to July 30, the Institute of Management Management and Asian Development conducted a training program for surveyors and supervisors in Quang Ninh and Le Thuy districts and conducted surveys in 7 communes of the two districts.

In the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic that is developing very complicatedly in most provinces across the country, Quang Binh is one of the rare provinces that are less affected by the disease. Especially, the communes located in the project area in the two districts of Quang Ninh and Le Thuy have no cases of infection. In the context of the epidemic, the training session on 24/7 was conducted via zoom with the dedicated technical guidance of UNDP experts and the coordination of AMDI Institute from Hanoi bridge. At the Quang Binh bridgehead, a resident expert of AMDI Institute in the central region was allowed to approach the site and directly guide the survey team and connect online with the Hanoi bridgehead. The training session was very successful thanks to the enthusiastic participation of the surveyors, supervisors, is a Red Cross officer at the district and commune levels who are familiar with the area and have participated in similar surveys. The UNDP project manager, who also participated in the training session, highly appreciated the local participation and coordination of the AMDI Institute in the complicated epidemic situation.

Surveyors conduct interviews with local people

After the training, surveyors returned to their communes to conduct field data collection. Data collection was performed on the ODK application, a popular field data collection tool today. The application is installed on the surveyor's tablet and updated to a server managed by UNDP experts to update progress, control quality and promptly correct inappropriate input data. on-site to ensure strict compliance with the requirements on gender ratio, age, interview participants, etc., so the remote guidance of the technical team and coordination through online channels The line goes on continuously, day and night, to ensure timely support.

After a week of enthusiastic and active work of the whole team of surveyors, supervisors, technicians, coordinators, local authorities and interviewees, regardless of day and night, weekend, the survey at Quang Ninh and Le Thuy districts have completed with 486 quality assurance questionnaires according to UNDP standards. The quality of the questionnaire is highly appreciated by UNDP experts for its authenticity and reliability. The project's gifts given to the interviewees are meals of main noodles, seasoning powder, etc., which have been very well received by the people, for them they are very practical and meaningful gifts during the epidemic season.
